This is a backyard deck project we did in Oregon, just south of Madison. We used green deck boards with 6x6 posts. Posts this size are strong enough to support the three season room the homeowner has planned for a future project. For a classier look, the homeowner requested metal spindles in the railing. Once the deck was built, we removed the original two double hung windows (see the starting shot) and in place of those windows, installed a Great Lakes 5000 series sliding glass door to allow access out onto their beautiful new deck.
